Privacy Policy

This page explains what this site collects, why it collects it, and how homeowners, providers, and California residents can make privacy requests.

Information we collect

  • Contact details you submit, such as name, email, and optional phone number.
  • Project details you submit, such as city, ADU type, stage, budget range, timeline, notes, and provider interest.
  • Provider or correction details you submit when asking us to update a profile or listing.
  • Basic technical and analytics data, such as page URLs, referrers, device/browser signals, outbound link events, and tagged click events.
  • Local browser fallback data if a form cannot reach the lead endpoint and the browser stores the attempted submission locally.

How we use information

  • To respond to homeowner, provider, correction, privacy, or partnership requests.
  • To review ADU project fit and route a request to a relevant provider when appropriate.
  • To improve pages, navigation, internal linking, conversion paths, and provider coverage.
  • To debug site operations, prevent abuse, protect the service, and maintain records of consent or correction requests.

How we share information

  • With matched ADU providers when a homeowner submits a project inquiry and consents to contact.
  • With service providers that help run the site, including hosting, analytics, forms, security, email, storage, and operations tools.
  • When required for security, legal compliance, dispute handling, fraud prevention, or protecting the rights of users and the site.
  • We do not sell personal information to ad networks. If project matching involves a commercial relationship, the relevant disclosure should stay visible.

Plausible Analytics

  • The site loads the Plausible script from plausible.nilni.com.
  • Plausible is used to understand pageviews, outbound links, and tagged events such as lead submissions, directory searches, cost calculator clicks, and provider profile clicks.
  • We do not use Plausible to collect form text, names, emails, phone numbers, or private project notes.

California privacy requests

  • California residents may request access, correction, deletion, or information about how personal information is used and shared.
  • We may need to verify the request before acting on it, especially if it involves contact details, lead records, provider corrections, or deletion.
  • Use the contact page and choose Privacy request. Include enough detail for us to find the relevant submission without posting sensitive information in the message.

Retention, security, and changes

  • We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose it was submitted, operational needs, legal requirements, or dispute handling.
  • No website can guarantee perfect security. We use reasonable operational safeguards and keep the site intentionally lightweight.
  • If data practices change, this page should be updated before the new practice is relied on.

Children

  • This site is for homeowners, property owners, providers, and adults researching ADU projects. It is not directed to children.
